Rocks for bases

Just finished this quick video on how to make rocks/slate for your bases.  Quick, easy, and cheap.  Let me know what you think.

Marneus Calgar

I haven't had a whole lot of time to do anything other than the podcast, primarchs, work, and of course spend time with the family lately.  As you can imagine that takes a up a LOT of time!  That being said one of the bootaz from 40k radio approached me to paint a model for him.  I had always wanted to paint Calgar, so this killed two birds with one stone so to speak.  I got to paint a killer model and it kept me from starting a whole Ultramarines army just for a few cool models.  Anyway, here is what I finished with.

Most of the blues were done with RMS paints.  The reds we VGC.  NMM Golds/Silver also RMS.  Feedback is always appreciated!

Lord of Iron

Have to say at this point this guy is one of my favorites. With all the gears and the heavy trim I really think Chiller hit the nail on the head with this one! Feel free to leave comments or contact me directly if you have interest!

Primarchs

So for those who may not have seen some of the posts on the forums that I haunt, here are some pics.  Enjoy!

A pic for scale and then some of the boys...

Busy busy busy

So it has been some time since I put a post up on my blog.  Thus making it not the best blog on the planet!  In fact, it is most likely closer to the worst to be honest.  Moving past that, here is what I have been up to.

I became an "official" host for 40k radio, which has been fun, but takes about 4 hours to record, so there went 8 hours a month of hobby.  Not to mention that it is about a 30-45 minutes each way in drive time.  I will say it has been fun getting to know Kyle, Romeo, and Chad.  From the show Chad and I started working on a personal hobby challenge that I am beginning to think is too much!!!  All 18 Primarchs, from scratch!!!  Funny how projects sound so damn fun when you are sharing hobby talk over a beer.  We are now over half way through them and our hobby souls have been devoured.

For those that want to know here is the process.  Chad, being the super creative guy he is, starts working on a guy.  He will shoot me some WIP pics, which I give my meager 2 cents on.  He does what he will with them and whalla, I get one delivered in all it's green stuff glory.  Once in my hands I take them apart, go back in and clean up any rough spots that need a fresh eye.  Lets face it, 10-20 hours of staring at the same guy makes you want to get him off of your desk!  I put fresh eyes on it and get it ready cast.  That is it.  Who would have thought my asking for a Russ would turn into this.

Anyway, that and a little infinity has been using up all my hobby time for the last couple months.  Between that, work, and my loving family, all 112 hours a week of awake time is spoken for.  This weekend was great as I did get to take my wonderful daughter to see The Avengers.  Nothing like a 3 1/2 year old screaming "Get him HULK!!!"  It just plumb makes a daddy proud and manages to get my inner geek all pumped up.  Sorry for not putting more up, but life is life!
